Meet Pro Parent Amanda Rivera

I am a first-time mom and SAHM to our sweet baby Noémie Isabel who is 9 months. My husband and I are still in awe that we get to be her parents. Noémie's nickname is Nomi and boy is she sweet, sassy and very curious. Our family resides in Chicago and we also have a 7 year old dog named Bella who is the best big sister.

We are huge Nanit fans and look forward to adding a camera when we have another baby. Very happy with our purchase!

What does your bedtime routine usually look like?

I like to turn on the night light and sound machine as I am putting my daughter's pjs on and changing her diaper so she becomes familiar with bedtime. Once she is comfortable in her pjs and has a clean diaper on, I turn off the night light and rock her in the rocking chair as she drinks milk. Once she is done eating, I rock her until she falls asleep and then slowly transition her into her crib. I usually leave the Nanit camera app open on my phone even when I go to sleep.

Why Nanit?

Honestly, my husband did all the search on all baby gear, especially the large purchases and anything related to technology gear for the baby. There was no other monitor that came close to Nanit with all that it has to offer!

Favorite Nanit products and features?

My favorite products are the Nanit Pro Camera, Sound + Light machine, and Breathing Band

I love a few things about the Nanit camera app: the clarity of the camera stream, the temperature read, and the breathing motion tracking. I also love the memories tab and the ability to see when Nomi hits different milestones

It’s also great that the sound + light machine controls are now integrated in the Nanit camera app to make it easier to adjust quickly. We also use the camera’s built in white noise and nightlight when we travel or want to move the camera around different parts of the house.

What tips or advice would you share with first-time parents?

Having a reliable monitor/app is critical and although it can be an investment it is 100% worth it. You have peace of mind while your child is asleep and you can travel with it around your house or while on vacation.

How does Nanit support you as a parent?

As first time parents, we honestly have so much peace knowing we can rely on our Nanit camera. When our daughter was in the infant stage, we used the camera and travel stand to watch her while she napped or was in the bassinet. Once she transitioned into her crib we moved the camera on the wall mount.

Prior to getting the Sound + Light machine, we used the white noise on the camera daily! Now we use the camera to watch her on any of our devices (iPhone/iPad) during her naps and at night. The Sound + Light machine is also a MUST for us as we now use the light and sound machine for her naps, bedtime, and when she wakes up.

We love all the features the apps have and love that the camera and accessories grow with her. When our daughter was an infant we used the breathing band which was HUGE for us because not only could we see her in the camera but we could monitor her breathing. We have never had any issues with our devices and even referred a friend to purchase the monitor after sharing our experience and feedback.
